Zoom sessions delivered by academy

The academy coaches and youth team players are delivering football fitness sessions over Zoom during the lockdown period.

Up to ten virtual sessions a week are being delivered, covering technical work, analysis and fitness and there are also quizzes and discussions to keep the interaction going between players and coaching staff.

Academy manager Neil Cluxton said: “Our staff are doing a tremendous job, volunteering to deliver football Zooms to all our players, ranging from the pre-academy to the youth team.

“We average around ten Zooms a week that all of our players and parents can access as well as external contributors such as Unit 1 Fitness & Martial Arts.”

Yout team defender Josh Burkitt praised the online work being done by the academy. He said: “After a Zoom session, I feel positive and energetic and the physical and mental benefits keep us going and connected with each other during these difficult times.”

Chris Richardson, father of U11 player Freddie Richardson, added: “It’s brilliant what Chesterfield FC Academy are doing for their players with the regular training and fitness Zoom sessions!

“Freddie is loving keeping in touch with his team-mates and coaches whilst also keeping his fitness and sharpness up.”
