Paul Cook said he was pleased with the first-half performance and praised the supporters after Tuesday night’s 2-0 home defeat against Wrexham.
On the performance, Cook said: “First half excellent, absolutely terrific, could not have asked any more out of the players.
“With the weather that everybody has had we couldn’t really train properly to get any momentum into them, and they were terrific. The only thing that was lacking was a goal.
“Second half was very disappointing but we’re in a little bit of a blip at the moment – that is clear for everyone to see – but we just go away and work harder like my players have always done at every club I have been at.”
Turning his attention to the backing from the fans, he added: “Our supporters were terrific. It was a great advertisement for the league. It was a really competitive game.
“Unfortunately we lost, but our supporters know how much it means to the Trust and the work that’s gone in by everyone getting the club in the position we’re in now.”
