Fine comeback to win

The Spireites came back from two goals down to beat Hartlepool United 3-2 following goals from Ryan Colclough, Jamie Grimes and Tom Naylor.

Hartlepool took the lead in the second minute through former Spireite Mani Dieseruvwe,who picked up the ball in the Spireites’ half, drove towards goal and slotted it past Harry Tyrer.

Hartlepool doubled their lead in the seventh minute when the ball was pulled back inside the box to Anthony Mancini, who calmly placed it into the bottom corner.

Colclough pulled one back for the Spireites in the 15th minute with an excellent back post header, following a cross from the right-hand side from Liam Mandeville.

Michael Jacobs hit the target with a header in first-half injury time, but his attempt was saved by Joel Dixon in the Hartlepool goal.

The Spireites went into half time trailing 2-1.

Grimes gave the Spireites an equaliser with a header, following a corner. Naylor made first contact, heading the ball onto the bar and the rebound was headed home by Grimes.

Colclough stung the hands of Dixon with a powerful shot from the left-hand side.

Once again, Colclough came close after cutting in from the left-hand side, but his low driven attempt hit the side netting.

It looking like Colclough had put the Spireites into the lead in the 70th minute but his goal was ruled offside.

Soon after coming on as a substitute Armando Dobra nearly assisted Colclough after pulling the ball back to him inside the box, but his attempt went wide.

Will Grigg almost gave the Spireites the lead in stoppage time with a header on the edge of the six-yard box, but his header flew wide.

Naylor scored a late winner (90+5).. The ball fell to Naylor inside the box, who struck the ball into the net, taking a slight deflection on the way in.

After this fantastic win, attention will now turn to Saturday’s away trip to Aldershot.
