“It’s sure to be a really tough game”

Assistant manager Danny Webb spoke with the media ahead of Tuesday’s away fixture at Rochdale.

He began by touching on Liam Mandeville’s impressive stats so far this campaign, saying: “’Mandy’ has absolutely smashed it so far this season, we’re all so impressed with him.

“He’s a really important player for us and he is without doubt a creative spark in the team. He’s a cracking lad too, he really makes everyone laugh around the place.

“All the squad at the minute are top class and whilst we’re top of the league it’s good to be able to say that.

“There’s a ruthless side to these players and Mandeville is one of many players that will hopefully get us over the line this year.”

Danny then spoke on Rochdale’s threats and what the game will bring. “It’s sure to be a really tough game, they have some great players,” he said.

“As a team Rochdale certainly won’t settle for a point, they want to win. They have some dangermen that’s for sure, but we’ll be focusing on ourselves.

“If we turn up then we’ll be okay, we know we can hurt teams and we know we can cause teams problems.

“We’re a dangerous side when we’re at our best; we’ll be switched on and ready.”

Finally, Danny gave us some team news ahead of the fixture. He said: “Tom Naylor is back available, we’re glad to have him back. Whether he comes back in or not I’m not sure, we’ll see.

“We have no other fresh injury concerns. We’re looking really good going into the game, it’s great.

“If our injury list stays to a minimum then we have a seriously good set of players to choose from. It’s exciting.”
