King agrees Spireites switch

A further addition to the Spireites squad is being made following Jeff King’s agreement to sign for the club after leaving FC Halifax Town.

King, who features as a right-sided wing-back, was a popular figure at Halifax, winning the Player of the Year award and being named in the Vanarama Team of the Season.

He is relishing the opportunity to join Chesterfield, saying: “There is a good feeling around the place and I can’t wait to get started. It is a great set-up and I want to help the club get back to the Football League.”

The 25-year-old scored seven goals in 35 appearances last season, including one against the Spireites at the Technique Stadium.

King joined Halifax from St Mirren two years ago after playing for a number of clubs including Bolton Wanderers.
