Rowe on the importance of a strong squad

James Rowe has again stressed the importance of having a strong squad as the Spireites travel to Norfolk today to face King’s Lynn Town.

The manager points out that the players who are left out of the side must be ready to take their chance when called upon.

“They need to train properly because they know the opportunity is going to come, whether they come straight into the team or they’re ready on the bench, to come on and impact it,” he said.

The value of having strength in depth was highlighted on Saturday when Jeff King and Saidou Khan were both forced to go off during the game against Wealdstone.

Rowe said: “I’m liking the way we’re adapting. King came off and we utlilised George (Carline) really well in the final third.”

Looking ahead to the challenge at King’s Lynn, Rowe commented: “They got a great result – 2-1 at Yeovil. There’s no easy game and we’ll be preparing right.

“We’re looking good at the moment in the first two games but we won’t get carried away.”
