Spireites fend off competition to sign striker

The Spireites have beaten off competition from other clubs to sign highly-rated striker Kabongo Tshimanga from Boreham Wood, subject to National League approval.

The 24-year-old arrives at the Technique Stadium after being secured on the three-year contract.

After putting pen to paper, Tshimanga said: “It feels great. You can obviously see how big the club is.

“The club shouldn’t be at this level. It deserves to be back in the Football League and that’s got to be the aim.”

Previously with MK Dons, Boston United and Oxford City, Tshimanga scored 38 goals in 79 league appearances for Boreham Wood.
