The Spireites have signed experienced central defender Ash Palmer from Stockport County, subject to FA approval.
An 18-month contract has been agreed with the 30-year-old, who played a key role in Stockport’s National League title-winning campaign last season.
After putting pen to paper on an 18-month contract, Palmer said: “I’m really happy to be here. As soon as I heard of the interest, I was pleased to get it done.
“I’ve got good experience at this level so hopefully that’s something I can bring to this team.”
Palmer, who scored five goals in 45 appearances in all competitions last season, joined Stockport from Guiseley in 2018. His previous clubs include Scunthorpe United, Southport and Buxton.
