Danny Webb insists that the Spireites must focus on their game when they take on managerless Eastleigh in front of the BT Sport cameras.
Speaking to the media, he said: “It will be tough and physical. They’ve got some good players, some big players. I think everybody’s a bit surprised on where they are in the league and sadly Ben [Strevens] has paid the price for that.
“I think it will be different to what it might have been because their players might want to run around a bit more to impress that new manager. Maybe not.
“We can’t overthink too much what’s going on in their camp because I’m sure they’re discussing what’s going on in our camp.
“We just have to make sure that once we get on the pitch tomorrow, we are solely focused on us and what we are going to do to win the game.”
Ahead of the game, the squad travelled down to Loughborough for a training camp.
Webb explained: “It was pre-organised last week just for a change in scenery for the boys. It’s been done a few times and it worked really well.
“They hosted us, and they were very warm and welcoming. The pitches were lovely there.”
Chesterfield will be without the suspended Jeff King and Webb gave an update on the fitness situation, saying: “We’ll have a look at Manny Oyeleke again today, he’s a doubt. I think Gavin [Gunning] has got a few weeks left with his calf.
“I think [Jim Kellermann] is going to be okay. We’ll have a look today in training, but he’ll certainly travel down to Eastleigh. Apart from that and the long termers, we are in quite a good position.”
