On Southend United

Southend are an established English football club, with over 100 years of competitive football to their name. They won double promotions back in 2004/2005 & 2005/2006, which earned the club a place in the Championship, where they spent one season before being instantly relegated back down to League One. After financial difficulty, the club suffered back-to-back relegations, and were relegated to the National League last season, after a 101-year stay in the Football League.

The club are looking at moving to a new stadium soon. Southend have struggled to get going this season but picked up their second win on Saturday at home to Eastleigh.
