Danny Webb revealed there are some players close to making a return from the treatment table and stated that some players have received better news than expected on their recovery period, but the assistant manager said tonight may come just too soon for anyone to make a return to the side.

Gaving Gunning was on the bench for the first time since January last time out. The defender has been suffering with a calf injury that has kept him out of the side, but he will be hoping to regain his place in the starting XI within the coming weeks.

Saidou Khan made the Vanarama National League team of the week after Saturday’s win over Wealdstone United and the midfielder will be looking to keep his place in the side after a shrewd performance on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Tom Denton has been left out of the squad over the last couple of games. Paul Cook did say Denton’s his ankle had flared up a few weeks back, but there has been no official clarification on whether this is what is keeping the striker out of the side.

On Altrincham

The Robins are a semi-professional football club who have spent several years floating around the non-league pyramid.

They were promoted to the National League in the 2019/20 season, after defeating Boston United in the play-off final of the National League North. They record one of the biggest FA Cup giant-killings of all time when they defeated top division Birmingham City 2–1 at Birmingham’s St Andrew’s in 1986.

This season Altrincham will be hoping to sustain their National League status and finish as high as possible in the table. The club won’t feel like they’re looking over their shoulders too much, as they’re now 18 points above the relegation zone, after some impressive wins in recent weeks has left the Robins in 15th position.

One to watch

Ryan Colclough is a winger with an eye for goal. The 27-year-old has made 28 appearances and scored eight goals since he signed for the club in 2020. His former clubs include Crewe Alexandra, Wigan Athletic, and Milton Keynes Dons.
