Name: Altrincham FC
Nicknames: The Robins
Stadium: Moss Lane
Address: Moss Lane, Altrincham, England, WA158AP
Manager: Phil Parkinson
The Robins are a semi-professional football club who have spent several years floating around the non-league pyramid.
They were promoted to the National League in the 2019/20 season, after defeating Boston United in the play-off final of the National League North. They record one of the biggest FA Cup giant-killings of all time when they defeated top division Birmingham City 2–1 at Birmingham’s St Andrew’s in 1986.
This season Altrincham will be hoping to sustain their National League status, but after an impressive start to the season they currently sit in 11th place. The Robins may even have an eye on trying to get into the National League play-offs.
One to watch
Marcus Dinanga is a former Spireite who played under current manager James Rowe last season when he was brought in on loan. The striker signed for Altrincham in the summer for an undisclosed fee from Stevenage. He has scored three goals in 14 appearances this term and will be looking to add to that tally against his former club.
The Spireites’ last three: (W/W/W)
Won – Chesterfield 3-1 Southend – FA Cup
Won – Chesterfield 4-0 Weymouth – National League
Won – Solihull Moors 0-2 Chesterfield – National League
The Robins’ last three: (D/L/W)
Drew – Altrincham 1-1 Boreham Wood – National League
Lost – Altrincham 2-3 Gateshead – FA Cup
Won – Weymouth 1-4 Altrincham – National League
The last time the Spireites faced the Robins was back in February, when the Blues were victorious at the Technique Stadium, winning 1-0.
