Match preview: Woking (h)

It’s the final game of the league campaign today as the Spireites take on Woking at the Technique Stadium. A sell-out crowd is expected and it’s sure to be a great atmosphere, as the fans look to help Paul Cook and the lads over the line. With Dagenham @ Redbridge sat just three points behind the Spireites going into the game, anything can happen, but a point would be enough to secure the play-offs for the Blues.

Highlights of the game will also be posted to our YouTube Channel.

Paul Cook revealed in the week that Manny Oyeleke has been ruled-out for the rest of the season. The midfielder now has a knee problem and will miss the play-offs if the Spireites are involved in them.

The gaffer also stated that Kabongo Tshimanga will not feature again this season. The striker has been out since January with a serious leg injury.

Akwasi Asante is a major doubt going into the fixture as his reoccurring calf issue has been causing him grief this week.

Meanwhile, Danny Rowe will be hoping to start.

On Woking FC

The Cards are a well-established club in the non-league pyramid, spending most of their years in and around the lower divisions.

They famously got to the fourth round of the FA Cup in 1991, where they lost 1-0 to Everton at Goodison Park, giving the Premier League side a run for their money. They now compete in the National League, the fifth tier of English football, having been promoted from the National League South in the 2018/19 season.

The club will undoubtably have ambitions of competing to gain promotion to the Football League soon. This season the club sit 15th and have nothing left to play for at the Technique Stadium, but make no mistake that the Cards will be coming to cause an upset.
