Manager James Rowe is expecting a very technical game when the Spireites travel down to face Dagenham & Redbridge on Saturday.
Speaking to the media, he said: “I think their form and the way they have gone at the start of the season is fantastic. The way they open the pitch is brave.
“They are a possession-based team, but I know where we can hurt them. We will be certainly trying to do that.
“They are going to want to keep their home form strong, which it has been. It can be a tight pitch down there so hopefully that can work in our favour.
“Both teams are going to go for the jugular, I’m sure. They are a very positive minded team, but so are we.”
Rowe celebrated his 50th game in charge of Chesterfield with the 1-0 over Eastleigh on Tuesday and he has enjoyed his time in North Derbyshire.
“My grey hairs are coming through now!” he joked. “But no, it’s been really enjoyable and I’m really enjoying working with the staff, the board and the players that we have recruited.
“It’s been an enjoyable ride, but we’ve got to maintain our standards for the remaining games. If we maintain our win ratio, we’re not going to be far away.”
Gavin Gunning was forced off against Eastleigh on Tuesday and the gaffer gave an update on the skipper and others.
He said: “Gavin has fractured his nose; he’s fractured his eye socket and he’s got a laceration on his face. We’re waiting to see if he needs an operation or not.
“Hopefully he doesn’t need surgery because of the position of the fracture. He’s not available tomorrow.
“We can’t really provide an update on who else is available and who’s not until after the session today. We’re down to the bare bones now.”
