Academy women’s team secure promotion to NFYL Premier League

We are pleased to announce that our academy women’s team have now secured promotion, along with Liverpool and Bolton Wanderers from the National Football Youth League Championship to the Premier League.

Finishing runner up to league champions Bolton Wanderers our young Spireites have achieved promotion to the Premier League. As well at Liverpool and Bolton, they will join the likes of Everton, Middlesborough and Sunderland in next season’s top flight.

The last game of the season will be played on Tuesday, May 7 at the SMH Group Stadium, with a 3pm kick-off against newly crowned champions Bolton.

Justin Tellus, the academy’s head of recruitment and development, said: “It’s an amazing achievement for the academy and we are so proud of the girls on achieving a ground-breaking promotion.

“It will be a really special occasion for our academy to play champions Bolton at the SMH Group Stadium and we hope for a good crowed to see the girls in action and receive their promotion trophy after the game.’

More details on the showcase final league fixture of the season will be released in the coming days.
