Ryan Colclough spoke with Spireites+ ahead of the home clash with FC Halifax Town on Tuesday evening.
He began by expressing his delight at signing a new contract with the club, saying: “I’m absolutely buzzing to sign a new deal; I love it here.
“It’s a fantastic place to play your football and I’m honestly really enjoying it. I was so disappointed that we didn’t get promoted last season but there’s no secret we want that automatic spot this season.
“I want to help get this club promoted, I love playing football in front of our fans and the stadium is rocking each week. I’m so happy to stay here and secure my future years.”
On Tuesday’s fixture, he touched on how important home games are going to be this year. “We’ve got to win our home games,” he said.
“The fans inside this stadium are fantastic and they really are our 12th man.
“Winning our home games is important and we want to win as many as we can here inside this fantastic stadium.
“We have two home games now so we have to try our best to make them count.
“Both opponents are strong but we have to focus on ourselves and do our best to pick up maximum points. I’m really looking forward to the game.”
