Andrew Dallas grabbed a hat-trick in a resounding 5-1 victory over Torquay United with Ollie Banks and Liam Mandeville also on target.
Paul Cook made two changes to the starting line-up with Dallas and Paul McCallum replacing Mike Jones and Joe Quigley.
Dallas threatened inside two minutes, forcing a save from keeper Halstead after linking up with Ryan Colclough.
Dallas also had an effort blocked during a lively opening spell.
Halstead made a save from Laurence Maguire before Banks (24) opened the scoring after receiving the ball from McCallum and finding the net with a deflected shot.
Dallas added a second goal two minutes later, nodding in from close range after McCallum’s header struck the bar.
Dallas was on target again five minutes before the interval with a 25-yard strike.
The Spireites went further ahead just a minute after the re-start when Maguire’s cross was headed down by McCallum and Mandeville fired into the roof of the net from a few yards out.
Ross Fitzsimons made a good save to keep out Collins before Dallas completed his hat-trick (60) with a shot from the edge of the box.
A double substitution was made in the 67th minute with Tim Akinola and Quigley replacing Darren Oldaker and McCallum.
Substitute McGavin (77) scored a consolation goal for the visitors.
