Chesterfield Football Club are delighted to confirm the signing of 20-year-old winger Danny Anisjko on a permanent basis following a successful trial period.
The former Nottingham Forest man linked up with Paul Cook’s squad on day one of pre-season, and impressed with energetic performances in friendlies against Clay Cross Town, Sheffield United and Halifax Town.
With Ecuadorian and Latvian heritage, Anisjko has represented Latvia at youth level for both the U19 and U21 sides and will be hoping that his performances for the Spireites can take him towards a full international appearance during the 2026/27 season.
After signing the contract, Anisjko said: “I’ve been with the team since the start of pre-season and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed being part of the squad and representing the club in the friendlies we’ve had so far.
“The lads have been very welcoming and I’ve settled into the dressing room really well. I just want to keep working hard and I can’t wait to get started.”
Assistant manager Danny Webb gave his thoughts on the deal, saying: “Danny has impressed since he came through the door on day one of pre-season and has put in a big effort to show his quality, as have all the lads we’ve had on trial.
“He has spent a lot of time in a top-class academy and we’ve seen snippets of his ability in the three friendlies we’ve had so far.
“Most importantly, he fits in well with the group and wants to play his football here. We’re all looking forward to seeing what he can produce when the season rolls around.”
