Armando Dobra has revealed his delight at signing his new contract and revealed how the manager played a big part in his decision to extend his stay with the Spireites.
He said: “I’m so happy to extend my stay here at Chesterfield. I love the club and I love the place.
“The gaffer is absolutely fantastic and I truly believe he’s a top end Championship manager and honestly think he could even maybe step up to the Premier League one day.
“He’s a great manager and I love working under him. The club has so many fantastic coaches, all the staff here are fantastic.
“I really feel like I’m developing here. I feel my game is getting better and better. I always think I can do more and I always think I can perform better but I know under this manager and these coaches I will improve.
“My goal is to get this club back to League Two. We’ve got to focus on getting promoted this year.
“The club is going in the right direction; I think we can climb up the leagues with this group.
“Once we’ve got out of this division, which is the real hard part with one automatic promotion spot, I don’t see why we can’t push on again in the league above. We’ve got to finish the job this season though, we have to stay focused.
“I really feel that this is the best thing for me now. We have bags of talent in this squad and I wanted to stay and be part of that.
“I feel I’ve made the right decision. I’m happy here and the gaffer is a big part of that. It made sense to sign the new deal and I’m buzzing to do that.
“The fans at this club are fantastic, they welcomed me and I’m grateful for that. I want to achieve with this club and get promoted.
“We have lots of work to do and we have to concentrate; a few bad results and suddenly there’s a really close title race going on.
“We’re looking to push on and try and get three points at home to Woking tomorrow.”
