The Spireites have strengthened their squad with the capture of Janoi Donacien and Bim Pepple.
Donacien, who was latterly at Ipswich Town, was a free agent while Pepple arrives on loan from Luton Town, subject to FA/EFL approval. Both deals are until the end of the season.
Donacien said: “It feels good to have got it all done and I’m ready to go. I’ve been in contact with the gaffer and ‘KD” (Kieron Dyer) for a while now and they’ve been keeping tabs on me.
“He (Paul Cook) brought me back in and he helped me a lot. It will be good to play under him again.”
Pepple, who links up with the Spireites after a successful loan spell at Southend United, said: “I’m delighted to be here. I hit a good run of form at Southend and I’m just focused on bringing that to League Two.
“Every time I have spoken to the gaffer, it has been good and I’m excited to work with him.”
Donacien, 31, is a versatile defender who has won promotion with both Accrington Stanley and Ipswich, making over 100 appearances for the latter club. He is a Saint Lucia international.
Pepple is a 21-year-old striker who moved to the UK from Canada as a youngster. He signed for Luton in 2022 and had loan spells at Grimsby Town, Bromley and Inverness Caledonian Thistle before joining Southend in the summer. He scored 11 goals in 23 appearances for the Shrimpers.
Donacien will wear the number 44 shirt while Pepple has been handed the number 27 shirt.
