Ten-man Chesterfield came away from Boundary Park with a point after a pulsating 1-1 draw with Oldham Athletic.
Adam Lewis struck in the first half before Kane Drummond equalised in the 59th minute.
Zach Hemming saved an added time penalty kick from Joe Garner after Kyle McFadzean was sent off.
Paul Cook made five changes to the starting XI as Devan Tanton, Jamie Grimes (injured), Lewis Gordon (injured), Dylan Duffy and Lee Bonis all made way.
Vontae Daley-Campbell, Janoi Donacien, Lewis, James Berry and Will Grigg, who made his 100th appearances for the club, were the replacements.
Former Spireite Joe Quigley had the first attempt of the game, but his long-range shot drifted off target.
Soon after, James Berry tried his best to open the scoring with a curling effort – the ball whistled past a post.
Chesterfield would take the lead, however, in the 21st minute. Berry’s pass found Lewis on the far-side, who drilled the ball beyond Mathew Hudson and into the bottom left-corner.
Oldham should have found an equaliser just after the half-hour mark when Ryan Woods low cross found an unmarked Quigley in the penalty area. The forward side-footed his effort wide from six yards.
Berry, who was a focal point of the away attack, tried his best to send his side into the break with a two-goal lead, but the winger skewed a half-volley off course.
The home side started the second period on the right foot and looked to claw themselves back on level terms.
Six minutes into the half, Quigley flicked a long ball on for substitute Drummond and the striker lashed the ball beyond Hemming at the first time of asking.
After the equaliser, the Spireites managed to mainly regain control of the contest in search of the go-ahead goal.
Hudson had to be on high alert to crucially deny Berry and Liam Mandeville and keep the score at 1-1.
Two minutes into added time, Drummond was brought down in the area by McFadzean – referee Sam Allison pointed to the spot and showed the defender a second yellow card. Garner stepped up but had his spot kick saved by Hemming.
