Chesterfield FC Women had their first home game of 2025 this afternoon, drawing 1-1 with Notts County Development.
In an even first half, Notts County took the lead in the 15th minute.
The Spireites responded well with a period of attacking play which paid off in the 29th minute when Lucy Graham powered past the opposition defence to get into the area. The ball ran loose but landed at the feet of Tia Mcdonagh, who finished calmly for the equaliser.
In the second half, Chesterfield enjoyed the majority of their play in the opposition half and came close to taking the lead twice.
First through Amelia Holland whose long-range shot was just gathered by the ‘keeper and, with just ten minutes to go, Steph O’Brien fired a shot towards goal from around 25yards, but it smashed against the bar before being cleared away.
The Spireites couldn’t find the winner though and the honours remained even after a good performance.
Chesterfield are at home again next weekend against Grimsby Town.
