An agreement has been reached with Paddy Madden for the forward to join the Spireites on a two-year deal following the expiry of his contract at Stockport County.
The 34-year-old has made over 650 career appearances to date and lifted the League Two title in the season just finished, scoring 22 goals during the campaign.
Madden has played for a number of clubs including Fleetwood Town, Scunthorpe United and Carlisle United.
After agreeing a deal which is subject to approval from the relevant authorities, Madden said: “I’m buzzing to get the deal done. It’s a massive club that I’ve always enjoyed playing against. The supporters have always followed the club fantastically.
“As soon as Paul [Cook] rang me, I knew I wanted to come and play for him and the club. He’s always been a brilliant manager.
“Obviously I won League Two with Stockport last season but who knows, what’s to say we can’t do it again.
“Football is about winning and I want to win football games, that’s what this club and manager do.
“I’m so excited to be here and I can’t wait to get going.”
Kane Drummond became the first signing of the summer last week after agreeing to join the Spireites upon the expiry of his contract at Macclesfield.
