Zach Hemming has become the fourth signing of the summer for the Spireites, joining from Middlesbrough for an undisclosed fee.
The goalkeeper spent the first half of last season out on loan at League One side Leyton Orient before before loaned to Scottish Premiership outfit St Mirren for the remainder of the campaign.
Overall, he made 34 appearances last term and kept nine clean sheets. He came close to helping St Mirren to a European spot, missing out by just three points.
Hemming joined Middlesborough’s academy in 2010 and climbed through the ranks before signing a professional contract in 2018.
The 25-year-old also had loan experiences in different environments prior to last season – playing for the likes of Darlington, Hartlepool United, Blyth Spartans and Kilmarnock.
Whilst at Kilmarnock, he played 39 times as they secured the Scottish Championship title in the 2021/22 season. He was also named as the club’s Young Player of the Year and included in the Scottish Championship’s PFA Team of the Season.
After signing a three-year contract, Hemming said: “When the interest came in that I was going to come down and sign on a permanent, I jumped at the chance to get my family settled for a longer period of time.
“Hopefully that will help on the pitch, and we can kick on from here.”
