Keeper signs for Spireites

The Spireites have signed keeper James Montgomery from Gateshead.

Montgomery, who has agreed a short-term contract, said: “I’m delighted. The club has had a good run of results so it’s a good place to come to. I’ve got a good vibe from the lads so you can tell it’s a good dressing room.”

After being with Middlesbrough as a youngster, the 26-year-old had spells as Guiseley, AFC Telford United, Gateshead, Forest Green Rovers and AFC Fylde before rejoining Gateshead last year. He had an emergency loan at Southend United last month.

Montgomery has been handed the number 35 shirt.
