The Spireites have added to their squad with the signing of winger Michael Olakigbe from Brentford, on loan until the end of the season.
He spent the first half of this campaign on loan at League One side Wigan Athletic – making 18 appearances and scoring one goal.
Olakigbe also appeared in December’s Vertu Trophy fixture against Wigan at the SMH Group Stadium.
The 20-year-old played for Queens Park Rangers, Fulham and Brentford as a youth player before signing a professional deal with the latter in 2023.
A loan spell at Peterborough United followed in 2024 before his six-month stint with Wigan.
The exciting wide man has also appeared for England at U18 and more recently U20 level.
Speaking exclusively to 1866 Sport, he said: “I’m very happy and ready to get going. I’m direct, tricky, exciting and quick.
“I’m looking to take it a game at a time and I hope we can get promoted.”
