Manager looks ahead to “big game”

Paul Cook faced the media ahead of Saturday’s away fixture against Harrogate Town.
He began by discussing Paddy Madden’s loan move to Accrington Stanley, saying: “I wish Paddy well. He’s come back in the summer and trained ever so hard. We made the decision in the summer on the basis of last year that it probably hadn’t worked out for Paddy and ourselves how we wanted it to.
“I think the move is great for both Paddy and Accrington. It gets Paddy playing football again, it gets his mojo back and he’s a great lad. He trains ever so hard and he really wants to play. So hopefully it’s a really good marriage for both and we all wish Paddy really, really well.”
With Bailey Hobson also moving out on loan recently, the manager spoke about his move to Brackley Town.
He said: “Bailey was outside that (core of the squad). The challenge is to go and play football, go and be the best player on a football pitch, go and enjoy your football and make a name for yourself to the point where other teams are phoning us.
“Again, I can’t speak highly enough of him as a lad, these lads trained really hard and I’m sure they’re both going to have great effects on the clubs they’ve gone out on loan to.”
Moving onto the Harrogate fixture, Cook added: “It’s a big game. If we go there get back and on the horse it’ll be a great start. Obviously if not, it just becomes a little bit lesser, so we’re under no illusions as to how tough it’ll be at Harrogate tomorrow.
“We took one point off them last year. They’re a very difficult side to play against. They’re very well set up, well organised, well coached and run and work hard.
“They’ve got great qualities in the team that every football team needs to have.”
Updating supporters on the injury front, the manager said: “Matt Dibley-Dias is back with us. He’ll be involved tomorrow. James Berry is now back on the grass on Monday, so he’s certainly not far away.
“We’re delighted with how the recoveries are coming on, Devin Tanton rejoins us Monday as well, so that’s three. The squad is looking good and I’m just really looking forward to the game tomorrow.
“We’ll take great support over there and hopefully we can have a successful day.”
