Mandy’s new deal

Liam Mandeville has signed a new two-and-a-half-year deal with the club, extending his stay at the SMH Group Stadium until the summer of 2028.

The 28-year-old has played a total of 271 times for the Spireites since joining in 2019, scoring on 37 occasions.

So far this term, he has scored three and assisted nine times in 36 appearances.

“I don’t want to be anywhere else to be honest,” Mandeville said. “I think the support has been absolutely brilliant and long may it continue. 

“To see the progress that we’ve made in everything with thetraining ground and obviously the support we’re getting, hopefully we can start turning that into results.

“I want to see through the work that we’re doing now andobviously progress up the leagues. I see this club being a League One club minimum.”

First-team coach Gary Roberts also spoke about the deal, saying: “He is our club. He epitomises everything.

“What we try to bring to the club is work-rate, is enthusiasm. He’s got are a real feel with the fans. The fans have taken to him so well.

“He’s a joy. I’ve got to know him really well. He’s been here since I walked through the door. He’s an infectious guy. On the pitch, he gives you everything.”
