The Spireites came from behind to win 2-1 at Alfreton Town in their latest pre-season fixture, played at the Impact Arena on Tuesday evening.
James Berry levelled early in the second half after Alfreton held a one-goal lead at the interval. Tom Naylor scored the winning goal 12 minutes from time.
The hosts took a 16th minute lead through a trialist.
Ryan Boot comfortably saved a header from Whitehouse.
Kane Drummond then saw his goal-bound shot cleared by Abbey.
Just before the break, Drummond threatened again with an effort which was cleared.
The equaliser came in the 51st minute when Drummond’s brilliant through ball found Berry, who chipped confidently over Askew.
There were ten changes made by Paul Cook in the 52nd minute, with all the players apart from Boot making way.
Another change was made in the 71st minute when Ali Mohiuddin came on in place of Jamie Grimes.
Naylor (78) struck the winner, meeting Bailey Hobson’s corner with a powerful header.
