Experienced goalkeeper Ross Fitzsimons has been drafted in ahead of Saturday’s game at home to Aldershot Town.
The 28-year-old shot-stopper has played for a number of different clubs in his career, including Stockport County, Notts County and Crystal Palace.
He’s no stranger to the Spireites, either, having been on loan at the club from Notts County back in 2020.
Manager Paul Cook said: “We’re delighted. Ross has got plenty of experience and has been at the club before, so it ticked so many boxes and we’re buzzing that he’s here.
“Ross will go in goal against Aldershot on Saturday and we’re delighted that he’s here to do that.
“Hopefully from there he will have a very confident start and we will see where it leads.”
Fitzsimons has been handed the number 1 shirt.
