Young defender Harvey Araujo has joined the Spireites on a season-loan from Fulham.
The left-footed centre-back links up with Fulham team-mate Devan Tanton, who arrived at Chesterfield on loan from the Premier League club last week.
Araujo, 19, has been impressed with what he has seen so far since heading north. He said: “I saw the Derby game and I was really impressed. It was a very good performance. The fans are also really good.”
Having been in the Fulham academy since the age of 12, Araujo is looking forward to the prospect of playing senior football.
He believes that Tanton’s presence at the club will help him settle in, saying: “It probably gives me a lot more confidence, having him as a team-mate here. We’ve had that connection for three years at Fulham. I’m just here to play games and be the best player I can.”
The deal is subject to FA and EFL approval.
