The youth team earned a 2-2 draw against AFC Dronfield last night.
The young Spireites’ goals came from Kallan Murphy, with a first-half header and Brad Charlesworth, who scored from 20 yards out in the second half.
Academy manager Neil Cluxton said: “It was a hard-working performance from the youngsters against a senior team in tough conditions.
“It was another 90 minutes for the players in preparartion for the start of the new season. Both teams played well and it was a fair result.”
There are a couple of pre-season friendlies for the youth team next week:
Tuesday, September 1 (7.30pm) – Shirebrook
Wednesday, September 2 (11am) – Doncaster Rovers at Keepmoat Stadium training ground
