A product of the club’s academy, Rawson made his first-team debut on the final day of the 2017/18 season. Since being handed a professional contract in 2019, he has spent time on loan at Matlock Town, Sheffield FC, Brighouse Town and Handsworth. Born in Chesterfield, Rawson is a boyhood Spireites supporter. The striker signed a new contract in the summer.
Jack McKay

Born in Glasgow, McKay began his youth career at Doncaster Rovers, progressing through the academy and being named Academy Player of the Year in 2013. He made his first-team debut against Sheffield United the following year. The striker went on to sign for Leeds United in 2016 before joining Cardiff City in 2018. McKay initially joined the Spireites on loan, before signing permanently in the summer of 2019, ahead of the 2019/20 season.
Nathan Tyson

Tyson signed on loan for the Spireites from Notts County in January 2020 before making his move permanent in August 2020. Born in Reading, the highly experienced forward has played for a host of different clubs, including Nottingham Forest, Derby County and Wycombe Wanderers. He came through the Reading academy, making his first-team debut for the Royals in April 2000. Tyson has made over 500 Football League appearances and has also played for Scottish club Kilmarnock. He was promoted to the Championship in 2007 as part of a Nottingham Forest side who finished runners-up. Renowned for his lightning pace, Tyson has expressed his desire to play until at least the age of 40.
Scott Boden

Boden has had two spells with the Spireites, first playing for the club between 2008 and 2013, making 103 appearances for the club and scoring 15 goals. In his first spell with the club, he was part of the League Two title-winning squad in 2010/11 and also won the EFL Trophy with Chesterfield in 2012. He returned to the club in January 2019 from Gateshead for an undisclosed fee. Boden’s other clubs include Halifax, Newport and Wrexham. Born in Sheffield, he was in Sheffield United’s academy, but never made a first-team appearance for the Blades.
Tom Denton

Denton was signed from Alfreton Town in 2018. Born in West Yorkshire, he spent his youth career at Wakefield before signing for Huddersfield Town in 2008. From 2008 to 2014, he played for several clubs before joining North Ferriby Town in July 2014. He went on to win the FA Trophy with the club, despite missing a penalty in the final at Wembley. Denton then spent two years at Halifax Town where he scored 27 goals in 74 appearances, before making the switch to Alfreton in 2018. He made less than ten appearances for the club before signing for the Spireites for an undisclosed fee. Denton uses his height to good effect, but he is also very comfortable with the ball at his feet.
Liam Mandeville

Mandeville began his career at Doncaster Rovers, coming through the club’s academy before breaking into the first team and making his debut in 2015. He spent a small amount of time on loan at Whitby Town and Colchester, before spending the 2018/19 season on loan at Morecambe. He was released from Doncaster in 2019 and signed for the Spireites ahead of the 2019/20 campaign. Mandeville is a ball-playing midfielder, who plays in an attacking role, but can also play as a striker. In 2016, he was awarded an EFL Young Player of the Month award for his performances at Doncaster in League Two.
Milan Butterfield

Butterfield is a 6ft 4’ central defensive midfielder. He was bought from National league North club Kidderminster Harriers in the summer for a nominal fee. Butterfield is a Bermuda international who has come up against the likes of Mexico and Costa Rica. He came through the ranks at Bermudan club Robin Hood before signing for Walsall in 2016. After loan moves to Leamington and Rushall, Butterfield signed a permanent contract with Kidderminster in 2018 and went on to make nearly 50 appearances for the club, scoring three goals, over a two-year period, before signing for the Spireites in the summer. He played under John Pemberton during the Spireites manager’s spell in charge at Kidderminster.
Jonathan Smith

Smith originally joined the Spireites in 2018 on loan from Stevenage and the move quickly became a permanent one after his contract with Stevenage was cancelled by mutual consent. Before his move to Chesterfield, Smith had made nearly 400 appearances for a variety of clubs across the English football pyramid, such as Forest Green Rovers, York City and Luton Town. Born in Preston, he was at Morecambe as a youth player. Smith won the League Two title in 2012 with Swindon and helped Luton Town claim the Conference Premier title in 2014. He mainly plays in a central midfield role, although he has made appearances at right-back.
Joe Rowley

Rowley is one of Chesterfield’s current longest-serving players. Born in Sheffield, he played for Sheffield United as a youth but made the switch to the Spireites academy later on. He progressed through the club’s academy and made his first-team debut in March 2017 at the age of just 17. Rowley scored his first-ever professional goal against Port Vale in April 2017, just one day after signing his first professional contract with the club. In March 2019, he was called up to the England ‘C’ squad to make his international debut. Rowley plays in central midfield or on the right-wing for the Spireites.
Regan Hutchinson

Regan Hutchinson

Hutchinson joined Chesterfield in the summer of 2019 after impressing on trial. Following a loan spell at Sheffield FC, he made his first-team debut in March 2020 in a home game against Ebbsfleet. Hutchinson plays as a right-back, but he can also play in midfield.
