The club’s in-house radio station, 1866 Sport, continues to go from strength to strength with a new record for listening figures set at the weekend!
Thousands of listeners heard coverage of Sunday’s Emirates FA Cup tie against Leyton Orient, generating the highest peak listening figures on the station for any home game.
It was 14% higher than the previous highest record, which was for last season’s FA Cup tie against West Brom.
Match commentary is provided by Phil Tooley with Spireites legend Jamie Hewitt acting as the regular summariser and Josh Marsh also providing valued input. The club’s media team – Nick Johnson, Kurt Bigg and Bron Jenkinson – provide recorded interviews as part of the coverage while the matchday build-up gets underway with Jon Chubb’s View from the Kop.
Marketing manager Bridget Ball said: “It is fantastic to see such impressive listening figures, with supporters enjoying the unrivalled coverage provided by 1866 Sport.
“I’d like to thank Phil, Jamie, Josh and Jon for their valued input. Thanks also to our commercial partners for the great support they provide, which is very much appreciated.”
