On Adam Hinshelwood
Adam Hinshelwood is part of a footballing family though and through. His grandfather, Wally Hinshelwood, is most known for his time at Reading and Bristol City in the 1950s. Paul Hinshelwood, his father, made around 300 appearances for Crystal Palace between 1973 and 1983. His son, Jack Hinshelwood, is currently plying his trade for Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion. Adam also made 100 appearances for the Seagulls during his playing career. He started his managerial career with Kelsey before moving to Worthing and later Hastings United. Hinshelwood re-joined Worthing in 2017 and spent seven years with the Rebels. He accepted the York City job in February and is looking to keep the Minstermen in the National League.
One to watch
If it wasn’t for the marquee signing of Dipo Akinyemi from Scottish Championship side Ayr United, an argument could be made that York City might be in even more danger of going down. The striker would like to be on more goals this season but his current tally has been vital to the Minstermen

Played for both
Scott Boden has played for both sides, starting with Chesterfield, who he joined from Sheffield United. In the two spells he had in North Derbyshire, he made almost 200 appearances for the club.
Upon leaving Boreham Wood in 2022, the striker joined fellow National League side York City. His stay was brief in Yorkshire as he only made four appearances for the Minstermen. Boden left to join Buxton in the same year.

“I think we are taking over 2,000 to York and considering we have won the league; they can have a real party and leave the serious stuff to us.”
