After signing for the club last week, Jack Sparkes spoke about his time at the club so far as well as tomorrow’s trip to Cheltenham.
He said: “I’ve really enjoyed it – loved playing in the home games and the crowd have been really good.
“Port Vale are up there for a reason. I know they went down to ten men but we still got a point and it’s important we quickly moved on to Tuesday night where the lads were fantastic.
“Even if they’d stayed with 11 men on the pitch, I think we would have won that game because we started so well and had complete control.”
On how he has settled straight into the squad, Jack added: “The manager has helped massively in terms of fitting into the team, he’s given me that freedom which gives me the confidence to go and perform on the pitch.
“Hopefully I can put in a few more good performances over the next few games.”
Looking at the prospect of facing Cheltenham, Jack said: “Every time I’ve played at Cheltenham, it’s been a tough game, quite physical on a tight pitch.
“The crowd are quite close to you, but I think it’ll be a good game and we all know we will back ourselves over any opponent.
“We’ve just got to go into that game in the same way we went into the last two – believing we can win. If we do that, I’m sure we’ll get something out of the game.”
If you can’t make it to the game, don’t forget there will be a live screening on the new video wall in the SBK Spires Restaurant at the SMH Group Stadium.
