MANAGER

There are not many people that know Crewe Alexandra more than Lee Bell. He came through the club’s academy before spending the first five years of his professional career at the Mornflake Stadium. The midfielder re-joined Crewe in 2010 and spent two more years at the club. After retiring in 2015, Bell moved into coaching at his former club. He coached at under-18 and under-23 level before moving to the first team and eventually becoming permanent manager in December 2022.

KEY PLAYER

Jack Lankester saw his 2024/25 campaign hampered by injury, but the midfielder provided a very good attacking output in the games he did play in. He ended the season top of the club’s goalscoring and assist chart.

Ryan Colclough started his career with Crewe Alexandra, making his professional debut in September 2012. He played a part in the club’s 2012/13 Johnstone’s Paint Trophy victory. Overall, the winger spent four years with the Railwaymen before making the switch to Wigan Athletic.

In January 2023, Colclough signed for Chesterfield from division rivals Altrincham. He played a big part in helping the club to the National League play-off final that year. The 30-year-old also helped the club to the National League title a season later.
