David Hughes was appointed Newport County manager in May 2025 after the departure of Nelson Jardim. It is his first-team management job since 2004, when he left Cyrmu Premier League side Barry Town. Most recently, Hughes was a professional development coach at Manchester United.

KEY PLAYER

Bobby Kamwa was a shining light for Newport County in his first campaign at Rodney Parade. He can play on the wing, in the number ten position and as a striker. The former Burton Albion man can provide attacking input through both goals and assists.

Whilst at Liverpool, Adam Lewis joined Newport County on loan in the summer of 2022. The full-back was a regular in the side until February when he suffered a season-ending injury. He would re-join the club on loan the following season, adding a further 30 appearances.

Lewis departed Liverpool at the end of the 2023/24 season before joining Morecambe. After a difficult season with the club, he left the Shrimps to join Chesterfield.
