Following the news announced earlier today that assistant-manager Danny Webb has left the club after four-and-a-half remarkable years to take up the role of manager at Yeovil Town, chairman Ashley Kirk has paid the following tribute:
“On behalf of everyone at Chesterfield, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to Danny for everything he has given to this club. Over the past four-and-a-half years we have shared many fabulous times, both on and off the pitch—three play-offs, a memorable Wembley final, and, of course, a National League championship.
“Danny has always carried himself with the utmost professionalism and has been an outstanding ambassador for Chesterfield FC. He will be missed by the players, the manager, the coaching staff, and our supporters.
“For me personally, Danny is more than a colleague – he’s a friend. I’ll certainly miss the occasional Thursday beer, but I’m sure we’ll share a pint again soon. Good luck, Danny. Don’t be a stranger; you’ll always be welcome at our club.”
The club thanks Danny Webb for his invaluable contribution and wishes him every success in his new role.
