Chesterfield look to end a streak of four games without a win in all competitions when they travel to the CopperJax Community Stadium to take on Bromley.
It is the 16th time that the two sides will meet each other since the start of the 2018/19 season.
The hosts have started well as they sit in seventh place in Sky Bet League Two, only losing once.
In the Spotlight
Chesterfield will be very aware of Michael Cheek can bring to the table, after coming up against him 15 times before.
He has scored 11 times in those fixtures – including one in last season’s 2-2 draw at the CopperJax Community Stadium.
In his first season in the EFL, Cheek scored 26 times in all competitions. He won the Golden Boot as well as being named Sky Bet League Two Player of the Season.
So far this campaign, the striker has found the net three times in his first ten appearances.
The gaffer’s record
Paul Cook has come up against Bromley and Andy Woodman a total of eight times since re-joining Chesterfield in 2022.
The Spireites have won four of those games, all of which came at the SMH Group Stadium.
Away from home, there has been a draw and three defeats for Cook in those fixtures.
Man in the middle
In his refereeing career, Carl Brook has taken charge of 316 fixtures, handing out 1,143 yellow cards and 54 red cards.
He has been the man in the middle for four Chesterfield games, which have resulted in two draws and two defeats.
Last season, Brook was the referee for the fixtures away at MK Dons and AFC Wimbledon.
Gary Roberts’ thoughts
“I’ve got so much respect for them, they have a style of play which they’re quite religious to, they’ve always got a similar system, and I think Andy Woodman done an unbelievable job there.
“They’re up near the top of the table and they’ve only lost one game in the league, which is huge. We’ve always had really good battles with them over the years, but after the game there’s so much respect there.”
