Chesterfield FC Women get their Adobe Women’s FA Cup campaign underway this afternoon. They enter the competition at the second qualifying round, and head to Bradford City AFC Women hoping to progress to the next round.
Last Match
It was a disappointing result for Pete Jarvis’ side last time out as they suffered a 6-0 home defeat against Loughborough Foxes Vixens.
A red card for Amy Nowell early in the second half changed the dynamics of the game, and the visitors went on to convincingly press home their advantage.
Jarvis said: “We came back into it in the second half, but then the game was changed very quickly and put a stop to that.
“We have learned a lot about our opponents, and there are things we can do better for sure.”
The Opposition
Last season, Bradford City AFC Women finished in second place in the North East Women’s Regional Football League, six points behind the eventual champions.
So far this campaign they have started with a 100% record in the league – winning 7-1 and 2-1 – which puts them in third place.
