Spireites preparing to face “well-drilled team”

First-team coach Gary Roberts spoke to the media on Friday morning ahead of Saturday afternoon’s Sky Bet League Two game against Fleetwood Town at the SMH Group Stadium.
He began by discussing the preparations throughout the week, with manager Paul Cook suspended for the fixture, saying: “He’ll let us go at it. The week is the same, we still prepare the same, and the manager is a big part of that.
“We can still speak before the game and at half-time, so it’s just about going into the game with what we’ve worked on all week in mind and hopefully we won’t have to say too much on the touchline because your work comes out from Monday to Friday.”
Roberts then gave an injury update, with Dylan Duffy making a return to training this week.
“Dylan is doing really well,” he said. “We’re really pleased to have him back. He’s been a bit of a nightmare for the physios because he loves football and he’s been desperate to come back.
“We’ve had to be really careful – it was a bit of a freak injury. He’s trained with the group this week and it’ll be nice to have him back soon.
“Will Grigg won’t be out for long at all. We’re quite pleased with the scan results which showed minimal damage. He’ll be back in the near future and a lot sooner than we first feared.”
Lastly, he gave his assessment of Fleetwood: “They’re on the back of some good home wins, they found a way to win against Harrogate. I like Fleetwood, I like their manager and I have done since his National League days.
“Their forward line is really strong, they’ve got four or five really good, experienced forwards. They play 3-5-2 with their wing-backs going high. They’re a good, well-drilled team and they always will be under Pete Wild.”
