Departing Spireites: Butterfield & Coddington

Milan Butterfield

Age: 23

Position: Midfielder

Appearances: Seven

Goals: None

Butterfield joined the Spireites in the summer of 2020 from Kidderminster Harriers, ahead of the 2020/21 campaign under then-manager John Pemberton.

The Bermuda international midfielder scored in his first appearance for the Spireites in a pre-season fixture away at Belper Town. He made a handful of appearances in the opening stages of the season before Pemberton left the club in November 2020.

Butterfield didn’t make an appearance under new manager James Rowe and was loaned out to Guiseley where he made two appearances before their season was curtailed.

Memorable moment: Butterfield was heavily involved in the 4-0 win at home to Woking in October 2020, where youngster Luke Rawson scored his first goal for the club.

 Luke Coddington

Age: 26

Position: Goalkeeper

Appearances: 11

Clean SheetsOne

Coddington arrived from Northampton Town in 2019 and battled it out with Shwan Jalal for the number one spot.

Unfortunately, the shot-stopper suffered a bad knee injury in December 2019 and has suffered setbacks on his road back to recovery.

Most memorable moment: The 26-year-old’s solitary clean sheet for the Spireites came in a 1-0 home win against Torquay United. Coddington made a number of saves as Chesterfield secured their first win of the 2019/20 season.
