Chesterfield Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of attacker Louie Marsh on a season-long loan from Sheffield United.
The 22-year-old came up through United’s academy and has made a number of first-team appearances for the Blades, as well as enjoying loan spells with Doncaster Rovers, Fleetwood Town and most recently Falkirk in the Scottish Premiership where he provided three goal contributions in nine games.
After signing for the Spireites, Marsh said: “I’m really excited to be here. I know it’s a massive club with big aspirations. Obviously, I spoke to the gaffer and as soon as I spoke to him, my mind was made up really.
“I heard about the interest on Sunday and as soon as I heard about it, I just wanted it to be done as soon as possible. The gaffer showed me where he wants me to play. I know it’s a really competitive team with a lot of good players and I’m really looking forward to going straight into it and hopefully playing my first game tomorrow.”
Marsh then spoke about the kind of player the fans can expect to see.
“Hopefully I can get them off their seats and they see goals and assists,” he said.
“I look to create chances and I’ll give 100 per cent every game, no matter what happens. I can stick to my word and I can give them that.”
Assistant manager Danny Webb added: “Louie is a talented young player who’s coming into the building with a real desire to have a successful season. He has a solid level of experience for a player of his age and adds to our attacking threat.
“We’re all delighted that he has made the move and we’re looking forward to getting him involved as soon as possible.”
The forward will look to make his debut for the club against Gillingham at the SMH Group Stadium on Tuesday night. Tickets for the match are available here.
