Chesterfield won 5-1 away from home against their FC Halifax Town counterparts earlier today in their opening National League U19 Alliance fixture with Louis Czerwak and Kian Tansley scoring two goals apiece for the young Spireites.
After falling behind against the run of play on 22 minutes, the Spireites regrouped and created three or four good chances prior to equalising through Czerwak, who was a constant threat in the first half and scored a very good individual goal to level the scores right on half time.
In the second half, after playing good football and creating numerous opportunities, the Spireites went 2-1 in front with a deflected own goal after good build up play and cross by Kallan Murphy and two minutes after that they scored again through Tansley, who prodded home after good link-up play.
Czerwak got his second of the game to cap a very good performance with a cool finish from 12 yards on 74 mins and the youth team continued to play attacking football.
Kallan Murphy went through on goal and was bought down for a penalty which Tansley dispatched into the top corner on 79 minutes.
All the members of the squad played a game and the substitutes who came on contributed in the performance to make it an excellent start to the National League campaign.
The young Spireites face Worksop Town on Friday night.
