Academy head of recruitment & development appointed

Justin Tellus has joined Chesterfield FC Community Trust as the academy’s head of recruitment & development.

After playing in Malta and featuring regularly in the UEFA Champions League and the Europa League, Justin has latterly been working at Leeds United in a recruitment and development role.

At Leeds he was part of the launch and running of hubs in England and Northern Ireland during a successful period for the club when they won the EFL Championship and finished ninth in the Premier League. 

Prior to that, Justin was the development manager at Matlock Town, running their academy. During a very successful four-year period, the Matlock academy produced five players who now play in the professional game including Max Hunt at Yeovil Town and Sheffield United’s Zak Brunt.

Commenting on his appointment, Justin said: “I am really looking forward to working in my new role with the Chesterfield academy.“The opportunity to work with academy manager Neil Cluxton, CEO John Croot and all the staff at this great club is a real honour.”I am looking to help expand the academy recruitment system as well as the development of the academy locally, domestically and internationally.”
