With so many academy games happening during the week, it can be difficult to keep track of how well the teams are doing.
This article provides an easy rundown of the results for you to follow and keep track of all the Chesterfield teams.
This week, there is a small theme of Grimsby Town games…
U7s
Chesterfield U7s hosted opponents Dronfield in their NDYFL game.
Consistency was the key in both halves, taking aspects of their training to enhance both their attacking play and defensive work.
All round, a good display from the young Spireites.
U9s & U10s
Both Chesterfield sides played well in a competitive match-up with Grimsby Town academy.
U11s
Staveley Miners Welfare Football Club saw a tightly contested JPL match-up, as Chesterfield U11s took on Yorkshire RTC.
The young Spireites started the game slowly but managed to get a foothold and looked comfortable for the erst of the 90 minutes. The confidence shone through, with much of their training coming through and helping in their battle against good opposition.
U12s
Chesterfield U12s welcomed Qualitas in their JPL fixture, playing out a difficult 3-3 draw against resilient opponents.
Todd, Ndebele and Thompson all carried their form over from last week, bagging a goal each, with Thompson impressively racking up five goals in his last two matches.
The young Spireites were equally matched, however, with Qualitas scrambling back to take a point away from their travels. Three points lost for Chesterfield, maybe?
U13s L
Game One
A Matthews goal and an own goal meant Chesterfield U13s took the victory against Grimsby Town in a friendly that ended 2-1.
The sides went in equal at the break, with the sides notching one goal each. The young Spireites snatched the victory when a Grimsby player diverted the ball into his own net, giving Chesterfield a well-deserved win.
Limbert was given the MOTM award and was one of the shining lights in a Chesterfield’s dominant win.
“It was a really good performance,” said the coach.
“We dominated the majority of the game and were probably disappointed not to come away with a bigger scoreline.
“We defended so well, limiting the opposition to minimal opportunities.
“A very good performance all round for the lads.”
Game Two
Chesterfield Midlands U13s travelled to opponents Stourbridge in another tough JPL match. Despite only taking 12 players on their trip, the side did well to keep composed and battle through tough periods but lost out in a 3-1 scoreline.
To make matters worse, a Chesterfield player had to leave the pitch with an injury after seven minutes, but the young Spireites were able to make it into the break at 1-1.
The Blues began to tire in the second half, with Stourbridge managing to create a gap between the sides following two good goals.
The coach spoke with pride about his side’s performance: “The boys played well and deserved to take the lead.
“Unfortunately, we just couldn’t hang on!
“I was so proud of the boys today. The scoreline didn’t reflect the game at all.
“They gave everything, and I couldn’t fault them.”
U14s
Game One
The Chesterfield U14s put on a spectacular show, firing five goals past Grimsby Town. Norris and Martins stole the show as both players racked up a brace each.
The young Spireites impressed against a CAT 3 academy sideand were unlucky not come away with a clean sheet too, with Grimsby grabbing a goal back to lessen the deficit in a 5-1 Chesterfield win.
Game Two
Chesterfield Midlands U14s put four brilliant goals past Peterborough Junior Blues, with the visitors unable to reply against tough opposition.
Chesterfield were slow out of the blocks in the first half, only scoring one goal through Marsden-Heathcote.
The young Spireites eliminated any chance of a Peterborough comeback as a McNally brace and a Keyghobhadi goal took the wind out of their opponent’s sails, with the game finishing 4-0.
MOTM(s): Bedford & McNally
“McNally had some great finishes; both of his goals were superb. He did exactly what I asked of him when he came on – I couldn’t ask for anymore,” the coach said as he chose his Man of the Match.
“Bedford did really well to manage his position and his opposite number, so he deserved the award, too.
“We started really slowly in the first half but after that, we played correctly, getting the ball down and moving the ball quicker.
“The communication improved which was good to hear, we were first to the second balls, and we pressed at the right times.
“It was a great result.”
U15s
Game One
Chesterfield Midlands U15s were on the positive end of a 6-2 scoreline as they took on AFC Rushden & Diamonds at Highfields.
Chesterfield dominated the first half, going in at the break 4-1 up thanks to a brace from Cancello, followed up by strikes from Horsley and Hardy.
The second half was slightly less eventful, with only Izzard, who now has three goals in two matches, and Dickinson getting in on the action. AFC Rushden & Diamonds managed to peg Chesterfield back to make it 6-2.
Last three games for the Midlands U15s: Three wins, 19 goals scored, only three goals conceded.
Game Two
A Chesterfield side consisting of a U15/16 took on a strong Grimsby Town U16s side and were unlucky to fall to a 3-1 defeat after an exciting 90 minutes.
Chesterfield did well to battle back, equalising early in the second half through Hinds after conceding the only goal of the first half. The midfield looked dominant throughout the game, controlling most patches of the game.
Having hit the crossbar twice, and having two efforts cleared off the line, the young Spireites were in total control and looked as though they could go onto win against very tough opposition.
That was, until Grimsby turned the ball over in the middle of the park and raced towards the Chesterfield box. The initial effort was well-saved, but the rebound fell to a player on the edge of the box, who hammered home to take the lead for Grimsby.
Chesterfield pushed for another equaliser but were caught on the break and punished excellently.
Despite a loss, the Blues performed well and proved just how much they have all improved in recent time. A display to be proud of.

U19s L
Chesterfield U19s narrowly missed out on their chance to top the table in National League U19 Alliance Division F, as a win could have taken them past table-toppers Grantham Town (if other results went their way).
A 2-1 loss to midtable Long Eaton United was the first time Chesterfield dropped points since November of last year, with the same scoreline against Basford United.
The same fixture in the cup saw Chesterfield walk away with a rather comfortable 7-1 win, but it was not to be this time out.
The young Spireites struggled in the first half, going in at the break 1-0 down. Long Eaton added their second three minutes after the restart to hurt the hopes of any Chesterfield comeback.
Ross clawed one back for Chesterfield with a long-range bullet strike but were unable to convert anymore chances as the score stayed 2-1 until the final whistle.
