Following the 2-1 loss to Stockport County, John Pemberton said he felt that the Spireites did not get what they deserved.
He said: “I didn’t think we deserved that, but we’ve got it again. I felt like the second goal we conceded they got a lot of luck.
“It’s one of those things, you’ve got to keep plugging away. I thought a lot of good came out of tonight.
“We played a good side in good form. It’s a bitter one to take because I felt we should have had something out of the game.
Pemberton praised his side’s work rate over the first four games against some tough sides and believes Chesterfield should currently be on more points.
“I think it’s been there for every game we’ve had,” he said. “We’ve played Hartlepool here who are arguably the in-form team. We should have got something from that game.
“We played Woking who at the time were unbeaten. We beat them 4-0. We played Torquay who are now joint top of the league and we should have got something from that.
“We played a good side here who are on a good run and we should have got something from that, but we haven’t. I think that’s what hurts the most. I felt we deserved a couple of points at least and we haven’t got it.
“We could have quite easily have had more points. We’ve just got to keep going. There’s a lot of positives at the moment.
“There’s a lot of fight. Defensively, I thought we looked okay. We caused a good side problems. That is where we are at the moment.
“I don’t think we are getting the rub of the green. We need a little bit of luck, but at the moment I don’t think we are getting it.”
