Ryheem Sheckleford has agreed to join Chesterfield on July 1, subject t to FA and National League approval.
The right-back will sign a two-year contract at the Technique Stadium and become the fifth signing of the summer.
On finalising the deal with the Spireites, Sheckleford said: “I’m delighted. I can’t wait to get going. I’ve been around the place; it’s a lovely club.
“I’ve met some of the people and everyone is great. I just can’t wait to get started. I’ve played here before and the fans here are great – the atmosphere is brilliant. It’s going to be great playing for the fans now.
“I’m an attacking, all-action full-back. I like to defend, I like to attack and I like to be on the ball and involved in the game.”
Sheckleford started his career with Fulham, playing for the under-18s, under-19s, under-21s and under-23s.
He was part of the Fulham squad that reached the 2014 FA Youth Cup final, losing 7-6 on aggregate to Chelsea.
The 25-year-old also gained some first-team experience at Wealdstone in 2016 before leaving Craven Cottage in 2017.
After a year out of football, Sheckleford joined fellow National League side Maidenhead United, where he established himself in the starting XI.
The full-back played 27 times during the 2021/22 season before departing York Road at the end of his contract.
