Derek Killingsley-Smith

We are sad to announce the death of founder member and lifelong fan Derek Killingsley-Smith. Derek had been a season ticket holder for many years at Saltergate and was a regular in the lounges at the Technique Stadium.

His service in the Grenadier Guards and he was chairman of the Matlock branch of the Grenadier Guards Association, which meant he played an active part in Armistice Day events in the Memorial Garden.

After his service, Derek had joined Derbyshire Constabulary and, as a sergeant, served all over the county. Upon his retirement, he became head of security at the Royal Hospital at Calow. He was very active in a number of community projects around Chesterfield, Matlock and particularly in his home village of Crich.

Our condolences to Kate, his family and all those who knew him.
